MacTHA members joined a networking event to introduce its scope of work to the tourism and hospitality industry. We hope to participate in more of these similar activities and we are always exploring collaboration and joint activities.
The covid-19 pandemic has changed the lives of many around the world. Among the most affected are the Class of 2020 graduates, particularly those of the tourism and hospitality programmes which is among one of the worst hit industry. MacTHA board members met with young people across higher education institutions in Macao to learn about difficulties they faced and offered advice to these young people. The conclusion of the day: those who persevere show resilience in times of difficulty, which is an important quality for a professional career in tourism and hospitality. MacTHA's sponsored a series of 30MinuteTalks in a range of topics from the impact of covid-19 to cruise industry to tourism recovery in Macao. In order to encourage those in Macao to engage in education, MacTHA partnered with the organisers to award Certificate of Participation to those attending the webinars.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, MacTHA members organised their board meeting via online video conferencing. Life goes on, c'est la vie! We thank the Macao government, in particular, the health authorities, and also all the front line workers in the tourism, hospitality and events industry for continually serving us!
